Commercial Agreements
Commercial agreements need to be defined and committed to print. Otherwise there is nothing to consult in the future if disputes arise and the parties concerned could well have very different recollections to what was agreed. As a safeguard therefore you are well advised to commit any commercial agreements to paper at the outset of any business relationship. That way, everyone knows where they stand from the off.

Here at Lonsdales we can help you draw up a number of commercial agreement documents. These include:

  • Partnership Agreements
  • Company Acquisitions
  • Business Purchases & Sales
  • ShareHolders' Agreements
  • Terms & Conditions of Business
  • Joint Ventures
  • Development Agreements
  • Articles of Association.

Commercial Disputes
From time to time, disputes arise in the commercial world and litigation is considered as a possible route of resolving them. This is an area that Lonsdales is well experienced to help in and our committed commercial team can help you decide on the best course of action without necessarily beginning a costly litigation.
We have a litigation team trained to meet the specific needs of commercial clients and our aim is always to follow the most effective course of action that will deliver the desired outcome.

Mental Health

Lonsdales has a dedicated team committed solely to the needs of people suffering with a mental illness.

People suffering with a mental illness are extremely vulnerable and it is vital that a firm with special experience and knowledge of their needs gives any legal representation.
Here at Lonsdales we have a department that offers help and advice to people with mental health problems, with a team of experienced staff trained and committed to serving clients' best interests at all times.

Understanding
We understand the enormous impact mental health problems can and do have on people and their family and work life.
Not only do sufferers have to contend with their own illness while running their affairs and possibly looking after children, but they often do not accept they have an illness at all. They also have to contend with the stigma that still exists in our society today about mental illness that arises out of ignorance and a lack of understanding. Our laws reinforce this ignorance. Did you know, for example, that a person sectioned under the Mental Health Act loses their right to vote? This ranks the mentally ill along with criminals as a disenfranchised group of people.

Caring
It is imperative that mentally ill clients receive a caring and understanding legal representation and this is a priority here at Lonsdales.
People suffering with a mental illness are often difficult and demanding and can be both hostile and suspicious, but we are well equipped to deal with and meet the diverse needs of these clients.
We can help with mental health issues such as representation at Mental Health Review Tribunals and Manager's Review meetings, give advice about consent to treatment, or assistance with everyday legal issues like a debt or a divorce, or even a molestation injunction. Perhaps a client has been arrested and faces criminal charges.
Whatever the circumstances, our mentally ill clients always receive advice with a great deal of patience and understanding from Lonsdales specially trained team. This, hopefully, helps ease a client's anxieties and builds a trusting relationship that can yield results that best serve the client's long-term interests.
